Star Wars VII – Cast Announced

Well, we kinda knew it was coming, but really, it was expected to drop on May 4th (for obvious reasons), but here it is ladies and gentlemen, the cast list for the new Star Wars movie. Any wagers on a title yet?
Returning to reprise their earlier roles, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniel and Kenny Baker
New to to the Star Wars universe, the line-up includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow

 

Magic Magic (2014) – Review

Juno Temple could never be accused of choosing easy roles. The St Trinian from somewhat humble, inauspicious beginnings has developed as an actor by diversifying wildly by genre and tone. From a creative family (mother producer, father director) it comes as no great surprise that she has ended up pulling faces for money as a chosen profession.

Even at the tender age of twenty-five, she already has an enviable CV of roles, such as the aformentioned St Trinians, The Dark Knight Rises, Greenberg, Killer Joe, Lovelace and this project to name but half a dozen in a career littered with influences from a host of directors that have given her a solid grounding. Soon, she will appear in Maleficent and the new Sin City. Not bad for a girl whose face you often knew, but just couldn’t put a name to at the time…

Snowpiercer (2013) – Review

I can’t shake the nagging feeling that somewhere along the way, Terry Gilliam had something to do with this. I’ve checked and it doesn’t appear that he has, but still, it just feels like he has had some form of cinematic sway in its creation. Not only does the project look like the kind of dystopian nightmare that would lurk in the back of his cerebellum somewhere, but the tone, a voraciously ugly, pustulent and violent microcosm of society’s most unpleasant of possible futures, is presented here in an almost comedic fashion.
