Umsplum’s Top Movie Music Picks for 2013

Okay, these are in no particular order, but these are the tunes we just can’t get out of our heads since we heard them in some of our favourite (and not so favourite) movies this year;

First up is Owl City with ‘When Can I See You Again’ from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph. Yes, I know it was 2012, but I saw it in January, so shush.

Next up, everyone’s favourite scruffy ginger, Ed Sheeran, with ‘I See Fire’ from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Then we have Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ from Despicable Me. This could be the catchiest tune ever made.

Next, the entire score from Gravity by composer Steven Price, with my personal favourite being ‘Above Earth’

Proud gave us this beautiful and simple track ‘Tur Kue Kwam Fun’ for Only God Forgives.

Disney’s Frozen threw up a couple of great songs, but ‘Let It Go’ from Idina Menzel, just nicked it.

Safe Haven may not have been the best movie of the year, but it did boast one of the best tracks. ‘Heart’s Content’ by Brandi Carlile.
